After Tyson Fury won by knockout over Dillian Whyte in front of a record 94,000 fans at Wembley Stadium in April 2022 he let the fans know his fighting resume in a post-fight press conference before he said he was hanging up the towel. However, there have already been rumblings of yet another Fury fight that could be put on the books in a cage match against Francis Ngannou in a 'Clash of the Titans' exhibition fight.

With the explosion of the metaverse in the last couple of years it is entirely possible to have names as big as Fury and Ngannou partaking in fights in the virtual world. The Metaverse Fight League has made it their mission to bring fans fights like these to the metaverse.

How will metaverse fights happen?

The way that MFLstudios will make this all work will be by using volumetric hologram sports filming technology. This was most recently used by the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA when they were able to successfully replay a Brooklyn Nets game in a virtual metaverse. The Nets just touched the tip of the iceberg with how this went down, and real live fights would be able to occur within the metaverse that MFLstudios is building.

Has Gen-Z lost interest in boxing or combat sports as a whole?

Gen Z has somewhat lost interest in live sporting events compared to the past generations as they spend more of their time and focus on other endeavors such as video games, eSports, crypto, social media, and now the metaverse. One sporting event that has already combined with Gen Z’s interests are celebrity fights that incorporate some of social media’s biggest stars like KSI and Jake Paul. Paul is one of social media’s biggest stars and his celebrity boxing matches draw massive crowds, especially from Gen Z.

The Metaverse Fight League

The Metaverse Fight League is a company that is trying to make fights such as these happen within the metaverse called the “Fighterverse.” Within the Fighterverse fans will be able to hangout before and after fights, chat with friends, attend weigh-ins and press conferences, chat with real fighters backstage, trade digital goods, attend parties, play side games and more. The options of what anyone can do in the metaverse and Fighterverse are essentially endless as any function can be built directly into the ecosystem.

The Metaverse Fight League has aimed to bring fights within a metaverse to give fans a virtual place to hangout and take in a fight like they have never been able to before. Fights as big as Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou or a Jake Paul celebrity boxing match are just a few of what could potentially go down in this virtual Fighterverse that has unlimited potential.
